City of Shrewsbury -
Grant Applications & Awards:

The City of Shrewsbury is constantly seeking ways to improve its service provision to the community with more efficiency and greater cost effectiveness. One of the ways the City manages to accomplish this is through the research of, application for and receipt of grant awards through available state and federal grant programs. In some cases, through successful application for these grant dollars, the City is able to provide services to the community that it would otherwise not be able to afford. In other cases, the grant allocations free up additional City revenues in order to allow the City to provide other needed services to the community.

Over the past seven years, the City has won grants totaling over $1,000,000 from state and federal government programs, as well as from private organizations. Below are listed several examples of such grant awards which have enabled the City to extend its services while concurrently not increasing the tax rates.
