Shrewsbury Police Crime Report April 1st through 7th:

  • On April 2nd, officers responded to a business in the 7500 block of Watson Road for a report of a flourishing of a weapon, where the suspect had already fled the scene. Officers were told a customer accused a different customer of stealing his watch. Employees watched the video and did not see a watch on him as he entered and informed him of that. He became upset and yelled numerous threats. He was escorted out of the business, where he removed a pistol from his vehicle and exhibited it in a threatening manner while in the parking lot. He then entered the vehicle and fled the scene. He was later arrested by Shrewsbury officers and the case will be presented to the Saint Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review on charges.
  • On April 2nd, an officer seized an iPhone for safe keeping that was found in the 5300 block of Cardinal Ridge Circle. Contact us if it’s yours!
  • On April 3rd, officers responded to a business in the 7400 block of Watson Road during the overnight hours for a report of numerous iPhones stolen and the suspect had fled the scene. With the help of management, officers quickly learned the suspect was an employee and broadcasted his information and vehicle description to area officers. The suspect recklessly fled from various police departments along his escape route and eventually crashed his car in Sunset Hills. He was taken into custody attempting to flee that crash. With the ample evidence, he was charged with felony stealing and felony resisting arrest. He is currently in custody on a $200,000 cash bond. The $13,000+ in iPhones were returned to the rightful owner. Thank you for your assistance, Sunset Hills PD, Crestwood PD, Saint Louis County PD, and Fenton Fire.
  • On April 4th, an officer opened an investigation regarding a fraudulent check passed at a local bank branch. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On April 6th, a Flock camera notified officers of a stolen vehicle that had just entered our fine city. Officers located the vehicle parked at a business in the 7200 block of Watson Road. As they approached, the male passenger fled on foot, aaaand they were off.  He was taken into custody near Chippewa and River Des Peres. It was confirmed he does not read this crime report, as he would have known he was just going to go to jail tired if he ran. The female driver did not run and was taken into custody at the vehicle. The case will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. Thank you for your assistance, St. Louis County PD and Flock.
  • On April 7th, officers responded to a business in the 7400 block of Walmart for a call for a shoplifting. During their investigation, they located a small baggie containing a white powdery substance, which was believed to be a controlled substance. The suspect used my favorite line, “That’s not my bag”, but when asked how it got into her wallet with only her belongings in it, she broke out my second favorite line, “just holdin’ it for a friend”. The case will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
